h/t Peta of Newark; In 2020, The BBC asked “should we give up flying for the climate?”. The same BBC defends climate elites’ continued use of private jets.

There has been criticism on social media of delegates to the United Nations Climate Change Conference COP27, in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt.

The day before the conference began, hundreds of environmental activists blocked private jets from leaving Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport, by sitting in front of their wheels and cycling around the airport.

What is the carbon footprint of private jet travel?

Emissions per kilometer traveled are significantly worse than with any other form of transportation.

“This mission traveled on one of the most carbon-efficient size aircraft in the world and the carbon emissions from these flights are well offset,” said a government spokesman.

International Head of the Energy and Climate Intelligence Unit told BBC Newsthat it is “not right” to focus on world leaders taking private jets to COP27.

I love articles like these, because they give us a glimpse into the brutal medieval world that I believe our climate elites are trying to build.

The image in my mind is the movie”The Hunger Games“, in which people are often forced to give up their cars, washers and dryers, air conditioners, indoor heating systems, and other modern conveniences. A world in which ordinary people are continually encouraged to live low-carbon lives by manual labor, toil and toil, for the benefit of the planet, while elites continue to live high with all the luxuries that they deny to people, because of the alleged importance of their work.

If you have any doubts, wonder when the BBC and the UK Government plan to stop trying to issue ethics certificates to the elite, given the supposed importance of their work.
