In an ironic twist, in 2002, he sued rap legend Dr Dre, hip-hop artist Truth Hurts and producer DJ Quick for using an excerpt from a song he had composed for a 1981 Bollywood movie. In the end, he shared credit for the song, so “it was fine, and I’m happy,” he said.
