Tvesa finished 51st as Nelly Korda won in Spain

India’s Tvesa Malik went through a rollercoaster ride in the final round to finish in 51st place at the Aramco Team Series – Sotogrande golf tournament here.

Tvesa, who made the cut on the rope, had four birdies against five bogeys in round 73. She finished four out of 220.

Tvesa is the only Indian in the field and will continue her schedule on the Ladies’ European Tour next week at the Skafto Open in Sweden.

Chhagan, Kavitha win Mumbai Half Marathon

Maharashtra’s Chhagan Bombale and Andhra Pradesh’s Kavitha Reddy won the men’s and women’s titles in the 2022 Mumbai Half Marathon at Bandra Kurla Complex on Sunday.

Bombale comfortably won the 21k event starting and ending at Jio Gardens, in 1 hour 16:11 minutes. He eliminated his challengers in turn, leaving second-place finisher Bhagatsing Valvi behind by more than a minute at 1:17:51. Anil Jindal placed in third place in 1:18:20.

The women’s event was also a one-sided affair when Kavitha Reddy opened up quite a distance from the chase group and passed the video at 1:37:03, far ahead of her closest opponent, Tanmaya Karmarkar over 3 minutes at 1:40:18.

Ketaki Sathe came in third, followed four minutes later at 1:44:55.

Cricket icon Sachin Tendulkar marked the races and also praised the subsequent winners.

“It has been a huge challenge for everyone over the past two years because of the pandemic but I was really overwhelmed to see so many people queuing for the city’s first biggest race since then,” said Tendulkar. ,” said Tendulkar, while interacting with the media.
