The catalog for Arqana’s August yearling sale has been published and includes 20 lots that are by or are siblings of Group 1 winners.
Notable offerings include Haras de Beaufay’s Welcome Half-sister to winner Coventry Stakes (G2) Rashabar (Lot 52); Haras d’Etreham Palace Pier Half-brother to 2017 Prix de la Foret (G1) winner Aclaim (58); La Motteraye Consignment Wootton Bassett disqualified from the 2019 Prix de Diane (G1) Channel Heroine (91); and Haras de Montaigu Zarak colt (109), the first foal of German top scorer Donjah.
Others include Etreham Dubai Half-brother to group 1 winners Wooded and Bucanero Fuerte (134); Ecurie des Monceaux’s Dubawi brothers with 2023 Futurity Trophy Stakes (G1) winner Ancient Wisdom (144); Gestut Ammerland Siyouni The colt got out Lope de Vega’s group wins and group 1-place Frankel half-sister Frankel (190); and Haras des Capucines’ Align half-sister to 2019 Gulfstream Park Oaks (G2) winner Champagne Who (200).
Around 40% of the 325 stallions and mares offered are black-type mares at the event, held at Arqana’s Deauville complex from August 16-18. The sale comes on a racing weekend that will feature two Group 1s in the Prix Morny (G1) and Prix Jean Romanet (G1).
Recent graduates in the sale include the unbeaten 2023 Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe (G1) hero and Prix du Jockey Club (G1) Ace’s Impact and this year’s Prix du Jockey Club winner Look at de Vega .
