The double Kickstarter campaign Because Armed Fantasia and Penny Blood ended successfully. Backers pledged a total of 379,328,385 yen during the crowdfunding campaign, which ended on September 30, 2022. This is up from the original target of 100 million yen. At current exchange rates, that’s just over $2.6 million USD from the original target of around $690,000 USD. The studios have revealed some the scene is in progress before the “last push” of the campaign.
The Kickstarter campaign started on August 30, 2022 and ends on September 30, 2022. In total, 17,920 backers donated to the campaign. Based on the Kickstarter page, the most popular tiers to support the campaign go up to pre-order numbers of the digital or physical versions of both games. The “Fusion Digital Deal” costs 11,000 yen (about $80) and the “Flex Physical Deal” costs 15,200 yen (about $110). Backers will eventually receive copies of both games. Notably, at least 3 backers have pledged more than 1 million yen (about 7,500 USD), the highest level of commitment that includes a meeting with the development teams.
Armed Fantasia developer Wild Bunch Productions and Penny Blood Developers Studio Wildrose and Yukikaze hit all the advertised stretch goals for both games. Stretch goals include console versions of both games, a New Game Plus mode on both games, a card mini-game, swapping costumes and weapons between games, and swapping mascots. Stretch objectives also unlock specific game content such as animated intros for Armed Fantasiaa novel with a happy ending Penny Bloodand additional features and content.
