Aquatica introduces housing for Nikon Z9

Nine months after launch Housing for Nikon Z8Aquatica has released the first images of its products case for Z9, the Z8’s chubby brother. These releases are in reverse order, because Z9 has been introduced before Z8but it does suggest that Aquatica is convinced that there is a market for a full-sized Z9, which is essentially the same as the Z8 save because of two key (and insignificant) differences: (i) CFexpress memory slot Dual Type B as opposed to the Z8’s single CFexpress/SD card slot configuration and (ii) 3300mAh/36Wh battery (EN-EL18d) instead of the Z8’s 2280mAh/16Wh (EN-EL15c).

At this stage, Aquatica hasn’t provided too many specifics about the new case, but you can expect all the good things the Canadian company is known for: durable aluminum construction, plenty of attention to detail. Convenience, a choice of flashing connectors (Ikelite, Nikonos or fiber optic) and Aquatica’s survey kit, including moisture detectors, valves and pumps. Aquatica says the version with a fiber optic connector includes a flash trigger.

The Aquatica AZ9 case is priced at $5,295 and can Pre-order now from retailers like Backscatter.
