Are you ready to upgrade your iPhone? Can you wait a few more days? That would be a good idea for you, as Apple is expected to announce the iPhone 14 on Wednesday, September 7, during a live event. This is Apple’s first in-person event since the pandemic forced companies to only conduct virtual events.

The live stream will begin at 10 a.m. PT / 1 p.m. ET and will be streamed on multiple platforms, including Apple.com. (Get more than that in a minute).

Apple announced the event in late August through an invitation to members of the press with the tagline “Far out.” Your guess is as good as mine in terms of what it means, but Apple usually likes to have a little fun with the intro line and provide a cryptic hint of what to expect.

In fact, the invitation looks like an Apple logo made of stars and planets. Could be an improvement night shooting mode will come to iPhone 14 series? Or at least with the iPhone 14 Pro models. Or is it possible that there is some kind of new zoom feature coming to the camera? Before I dive into what to expect from next week’s Apple event, here’s how you can tune in and watch it live.

When does the Apple Far Out event take place?

The event will take place on Wednesday, September 7 at 10 a.m. Pacific Time. That is broken down into 1pm ET on the US East Coast, 6pm BST in the UK, 7pm CEST in Central Europe, 1am CST in Beijing, 2am JST in Japan and 3am AEST in Sydney.

Where can I watch the Apple Far Out event?

I’ve embedded a YouTube live stream placeholder above for your convenience. But in addition to YouTube, Apple will also live stream the event on Apple Events Page. Historically, Apple has also streamed apps in Apple Events Apple TV App.

What should we expect Apple to announce at the Far Out event?

Four iPhone 14″ models

Speaking of expectations, what will Apple announce during the special event? A new iPhone, of course. There are rumors that four different iPhone 14 modelswith the iPhone mini model is replaced by iPhone 14 Max with 6.7 inch screen. So in total, the lineup will end with iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Max or Plus, iPhone 14 Pro, and iPhone 14 Pro Max.

By Bloomberg Mark Gurman recently speculate that the event’s Far Out title may be related to an iPhone 14 feature that allows the phone to send emergency messages via satellite during natural disasters or in areas with poor cellular reception. It’s a feature that’s been rumored to be around for over a year now, and the Far Out title makes sense.

Gurman has also confirmed that the iPhone 14 Pro models will have a cutout display instead of a notch where the Face ID hardware is located near the top of the screen. The cut out will look like a pill.

Three Apple Watch models

Apple also has new Apple Watch models. Exactly three of them. Based on BloombergNew Apple Watch 8 with body temperature sensor and women’s health features, an update Apple Watch SEand Apple Watch Pro (a new type of device from the company) are both expected to be announced during the event. Apple Watch Pro is rumor for a flatter design and possibly a new watch band.

AirPods Pro 2

Also rumor to be ready for an announcement is a new model of Apple’s AirPods Pro. There’s not much specifics about what will effectively be the AirPods Pro 2, but I imagine a new design, better battery life, improved ANC, and sound quality are all included.
