Another Canon lens coming this month
Since the release of the EOS R5, EOS R6 and RF 28-70mm f/2L, Canon has been very active in both lens design and release schedule. It seems the company has no intention of slowing down, with another lens likely to be announced later this month.
Canon rumor is Report that Canon plans to announce the RF 24-50mm f/4.5-6.3 IS STM lens later this month. With such a modest focal length and aperture range, it is very likely that this lens will be very portable and quite affordable. That’s good news, because while Canon has released some very impressive and impressive lenses, its price tag is equally high, with fewer options in the lower end. I’m sure some of the more utilitarian and more modestly priced lenses would be welcome, especially ones with portability. It will likely be a popular choice for things like run-and-gun filmmaking, travel photography, and maybe even street photography. While I’m sure Canon will continue to release high-end professional lenses, I expect we’ll also see more lenses like this that provide photographers with affordable options, especially since the RF mount is essentially unsuitable for third-party autofocus lenses at the moment.
