If you like Nintendo’s ‘Club Nintendo’ loyalty initiative, then you might want to keep an eye out for an upcoming one Kickstarter Project due to launch on August 1, 2024.
Created by Ocsar Bown, who previously gifted us with the unofficial Super Mario Collection Hardcover Book, ‘An unauthenticated collection of Club Nintendo’ aims to aggregate every major loyalty program reward from its inception in Europe in 2002 until its demise in 2015.
With over 300 pages and many specially designed images, this is, to our knowledge, the first full-length publication about Club Nintendo.
Backers of the project can also pick up some cool add-ons, including a gold coin pin, a handheld postcard, and a 2025 anniversary calendar. It’s truly a project that wants to do what Nintendo hasn’t done before – at least not like it used to.
Club Nintendo was available in Europe, North America, Japan, and Australia, and rolled out slowly from 2002 to 2008. By submitting codes found inside official Nintendo products, fans could accumulate coins to purchase physical rewards, including CD soundtracks, stuffed animals, badges, and even wired controllers.
After Nintendo discontinued Club Nintendo in 2015, the company launched an official successor called My Nintendo. It works similarly, although the rewards tend to be more digital items like phone wallpapers, themes, and full game downloads for the Wii U and 3DS.
