Ambati Rayudu returns to Baroda

Ambati Rayudu has returned to Baroda and will play for this team in the upcoming domestic season.

The development was confirmed to PTI on Wednesday by Baroda Cricket Association CEO Shishir Hattangadi.

Rayudu had previously approached the BCA before the start of the Indian Premier League (IPL) and expressed his desire to play for Baroda. Rayudu has played for Baroda in the past.

Another senior BCA official said that right-handed players would play in the “professional” category.

Rayudu has played 97 first place matches, from which he has scored 6,151 runs with 210 being his highest score. He has also played 55 ODIs and six T20 Internationals for India.

The 36-year-old, who has participated in various cricket facilities, has also represented Hyderabad, Andhra and Vidarbha.

Meanwhile, according to Hattangadi, the BCA’s Apex Board wants former all-around Indian athlete Yusuf Pathan to serve as an advisor to the team.

“We sent him (Yusuf) a letter of intent and we are waiting for everything to be formalized,” Hattangadi added.

The normal domestic cricket season starts from September to October.
