of Amazon The checkout function experienced technical issues on Friday, leaving customers unable to complete purchases. The e-commerce site displayed an error message with a picture of a dog during the outage as people posted about it on social media.
Amazon relies on its own data center infrastructure to run its website. But the company’s Amazon Web Services division did not report any technical issues while the checkout feature was down. AWS downtime can lead to problems on the internet because so many companies rely on market-leading public cloud platforms.
An Amazon spokesperson did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
In preparation for the long holiday weekend in the United States, Amazon has begun promoting product discount as part of a Labor Day sale. But people were unable to purchase the discounted product because of the error, as some pointed out on social media X.
The Amazon Help account on X responded with a recommendation to contact the company.
Amazon has warning investors that technical problems can lead to lower sales and poorer awareness of the company’s products and services. Sales are in good shape. nearly 148 billion dollars in the second quarter.
