Amari Cooper COVID-19 Update: What’s Next After Cowboys WR Exclusion on Sunday
The Cowboys won’t have one of their top receivers on Sunday when they face the Chiefs.
Amari Cooper was placed on the team’s COVID-19 reserve list on Friday. That kept him out of Kansas City for Week 11. Timing also jeopardized his ability to make it into the Cowboys Thanksgiving Day game against the Raiders.

How long is Amari Cooper absent?
Cooper’s sixth place on the COVID-19 list means he is not available to play the Chiefs on Sunday at Arrowhead Stadium.
Following NFL’s COVID-19 protocols, vaccinated players who test positive and have symptoms must be isolated while contact tracing takes place. Those players will have to stay out of the game until they have two negative tests at least 24 hours apart. If a player is not vaccinated, they will need to be isolated for 10 days and must be symptom-free before returning.
If Cooper is vaccinated, he could be back in time for the Cowboys Thanksgiving Day game against the Raiders. If he is unvaccinated and tests positive for the virus, the earliest he can return to the action game is December 2.
In Cooper’s absence, the Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott will rely on top receivers CeeDee Lamb, Cedrick Wilson and Michael Gallup on Sunday.
Is Amari Cooper Vaccinated?
According to ESPN’s Todd Archer, Cooper has not been vaccinated. He will have to undergo 10 days of mandatory isolation and perform two negative COVID-19 tests without showing symptoms before he can return to the field. If he tests negative twice on November 29, he could be allowed to play in the Cowboys’ December 2 game against the Saints.
Archer also reported that Cooper has tested positive for COVID-19 and will miss the Cowboys games on Sunday and Thanksgiving.
