What are Disney Cruise Line’s rotating meals?
Rotating dining is a unique dining idea of Disney Cruise Line. You and your travel group are assigned to dine at one of three complimentary onboard restaurants at a certain time each night of your trip. You will sit with your group at an assigned table and with assigned servers.
You will dine at each of the three restaurants at least once on short cruises and at least twice on week-long cruises, according to the schedule provided to you on board. Your table number will remain the same and your waiter will accompany you. On cruises longer than three nights, you’ll visit some restaurants multiple times, perhaps with a different menu for pirate night or a welcome dinner on board. Cruisers cannot choose which locations they visit extra time.
Each dining room has a different menu, so rotation ensures you can dine in each main dining room on your ship at least once.
Each dining room also has a different theme, which can be related to Disney animation, the garden at sunset, characters from the movie “Frozen” or Marvel. Sometimes, the restaurant will host a show or entertainment during the meal. Different ships have rotating restaurants with different themes.

Which Disney ships have rotating meals?
Rotating meals are offered on all ships in the Disney Cruise Line fleet:
Disney Dream Carousel Dinner
The three main restaurants serving rotating meals on the Disney Dream are the Animator’s Palate, which allows passengers to converse with an animatronic of Crush (the turtle from “Finding Nemo”) through giant screens along the walls; Enchanted Garden, which feels like you’re dining in a garden as the sun slowly sets; and the Royal Palace, featuring paintings of Disney Princesses and a French-influenced menu.
Disney Wish rotating meals
On Disney Wish, passengers will rotate between Arendelle: A Frozen Dining Adventureincluding a Norwegian menu to celebrate Anna’s engagement to Kristoff; Marvel World, where Ant-Man accidentally shrinks the ship and then tries to repair it; and 1923, a less interactive and more elegant restaurant with art deco motifs inspired by the golden age of animation.
Disney Magic Rotating Meals
Passengers on the Disney Magic will rotate between Rapunzel’s Royal Table, which celebrates Rapunzel’s birthday with singing, dancing and character visits, and Lumiere’s, a fairly simple dining room with a theme “Beauty and the Beast” is loose but hardly noticeable. Is rotating dining optional?
Disney Cruise Line’s buffets are not open for dinner on most sailings, and its ships do not have main dining rooms to accommodate guests who prefer flexible dining times. If you want a free sit-down restaurant meal, you’ll need to follow a rotating dining schedule.
If you choose not to eat in the main dining room as part of the rotating meal, you can choose room service or choose to pay extra for an alternative restaurant, e.g PaloRemy or enchanted. However, restaurants that charge a fee only serve adults and do not accept diners under 18 years old. If you’re traveling with children, the alternatives to alternate dining are extremely limited.
