Allerton aims to step onto the top podium this weekend at The Bend

The Kinderis-managed Next Generation Motorsport team got a new look at Phillip Island over the weekend after receiving Spectro Performance Oils sponsorship to lead the penultimate round of the Superbike Championship. Mi-bike Motorcycle Insurance 2022.

They also went into the ring with added confidence after some recent tests.

Glenn Allerton made it through to the ninth qualifying round, nine tenths behind the new qualifying record set by Josh Waters, but less than half a second from the top.

Glenn shines in the challenging conditions experienced in opening match 12 rounds of the weekendchallenged to win, but ended up runner-up behind Bryan Staring.

Glenn is in the fight going forward in three races before running off the track on the fourth inning, he rejoined the lap to keep fifth, good enough to win a round podium after picking up 50 points.

Allerton heads to The Bend final this weekend with a fifth-place finish in the championship.

“The weekend created a lot of challenges, especially with the weather, and I’m really pleased with our 3rd overall result.

“Race 1 was wet and we were strong, challenging to win and finish 2. Race 2 I had a great start and went up to 2nd place. But I had problems with the side handle. after finishing in 7th place.

“Race 3 was another great start and the team made some changes to fix rear grip issues. I went through a long battle for the podium but lost the contention to finish in 5th place. Confidence is running high going into Bend this weekend. I’m aiming for the top step of the podium.“

“A weekend to remember, Mother Nature threw everything at us and put the whole team to their best for the weekend. We let the bike work, and then the rain washed away any grip, forcing us to constantly change our setup.

“Although we had great results when we finished stage 1 P2 on the wet road. This is the first time Glenn or Sloan has driven the M1000RR in the rain and our predictions for the Bitubo suspension are not far off.

“Race 2, the track changed and we struggled to get the game we had in qualifying. The big changes to Race 3 saw us fight for the lead again towards the end of the race when Glenn ran off the track, ending the fight for the second podium of the lap. .

“Achieving 3rd place overall for the round is a great achievement for the team, especially with the companionship of our new sponsor. Now we head to Tailem Bend to be ready to fight for the podium once more.”
