Alexandra Hospital leverages cloud-based service to help patients avoid preventable chronic illness



Alexandra Hospital participated in the launch of a new cloud-based digital health service in Singapore by telecoms provider StarHub with partners health technology companies ConnectedLife and Fitbit.

Called LifeHub+, the mobile app-based service seeks to connect clinicians and health coaches with patients at risk or dealing with health conditions. preventable chronic diseases such as obesity, diabetes, high blood pressure and high cholesterol.

According to a media release, approximately 300 patients from AH and GP clinics will be the first to join the LifeHub+ service and track their health indicators and wellness activities. .

WHAT IT DOES

The LifeHub+ app provides insights into users’ health and well-being to help improve their condition. It generates a dynamic health score by collecting and analyzing health indicators such as step count, exercise exercise, sleep pattern, heart rate, heart rate variability, skin temperature variation, breathing rate and oxygen saturation, along with blood pressure and glucose data collected from third-party devices.

These health data can be shared with GPs, health coaches and other care providers, who can access them through the LifeHub+ dashboard.

Furthermore, users can set up reminder alerts for medication, exercise, or scheduled health checkups.

In the future, StarHub plans to add a lifestyle questionnaire and disease risk assessment tool to the service.
