Washington capital star Alex Ovechkin currently pursuing NHL goal number 800 in his career. After starting the 2022-23 season in 780th place, he has scored 13 goals so far.
Ovi is third on the all-time NHL scorers list, behind Wayne Gretzky (894) and Gordie Howe (801). The next most active player on the list is Sidney Crosby, in 37th place with 523 goals. With his 787th goal, Ovechkin sets a record for most of the goals scored with the same franchise.

Ovechkin scored twice in the Capital’s first match against Canuck Vancouver — first time unsupported and second time with help from dylan strome and Anthony Mantha. Ovechkin has now surpassed Wayne Gretzky for most all-time goals on the road.
