Alcidion’s Miya Precision goes into operation at Alfred Health
Alfred Health, the main healthcare provider in Melbourne’s southeast, is now using Alcidion’s Miya Precision modules to improve patient flow and bed management.
WHAT IT’S ABOUT
Alcidion was initially contracted to implement electronic patient journey boards at Alfred Health in May 2022. Their Miya Flow solution, integrated with Alfred’s EMR, unifies and presents a visual view real-time data from a variety of systems, enabling proactive referral management and discharge planning.
The Miya Access solution has been added to provide an end-to-end bed management process. It promotes effective communication and transfer of patient flow information between department or room staff and the Bed Assigning Office.
Thereafter, Miya Command was deployed to operate in the background, providing wards and departments with an overview of incoming patients, patient movements, congestion, and discharge barriers.
WHY IT IMPORTANT
Alfred Health envisions a command center that can help monitor and manage patient flow and care pathways across its hospitals, as well as serve as the foundation of telemedicine. for the patient at home.
“Being able to integrate patient information across disparate systems and having more access to real-time information to better manage patient flow is a key driver for us,” said Chief Medical Officer Digital by Alfred Health, says Amy McKimm. Healthcare IT News.
Although integrating the modules with Alfred Health’s EMR and PAS has become a significant challenge during implementation, they can still be operational after nine months.
Miya Precision is now providing Alfred staff with information about patients’ conditions across all facilities in real time, “without relying on phone and messaging systems.” The information these modules display also provides information on hospital operations and discharge planning. Currently, work is continuing to optimize the design and functionality of the platform.
“As we eliminate manual whiteboards and bed allocation processes, we expect to see improvements in bed management, less [data] cloning, and thus achieve greater efficiency,” added McKimm.
TREND TO BIGGER WOMAN
