At just $249, the 20mm f/2.8 is remarkably affordable, though it still meets a variety of needs. With a maximum magnification of 0.5x, it offers a relatively rare combination of good close-up capabilities and a wide focal length that can produce quite unique images. Plus, at under half a pound, it’s pretty portable. In addition to those specs, it also comes with a moisture-resistant design, three Low Dispersion elements to reduce chromatic aberrations, one molded glass aspherical element for less distortion, and good sharpness. Wide-range Anti-reflection to reduce flare and ghosting and deeper contrast, fluorine coating to prevent dirt and smudges, and a circular seven-blade diaphragm for smoother bokeh.
