According to The Numbers: Defender of the Raptors, Gary Trent Jr. is making history with his recent streak

“He’s a rock star in every sense of the word… He’s not in the flow. He’s the flow,” the Toronto Raptors frontman Fred VanVleet says by Gary Trent Jr. after scoring 33 points in a comeback win over the Miami Heat on Tuesday night.

Trent is in the midst of the hottest period of his career, eclipsing the 30-point mark for the fifth straight game as the Raptors won four of the last five.

That 30-point streak has placed Trent alongside some of the greats in the NBA this season, in the history of the Raptors franchise. and in NBA history in general.

Trent is a marksman from 3-point range.

The 22-year-old keeper has scored at least 5 3-pointers in his last 5 games, breaking Kyle Lowry’s record for the longest scoring streak in the history of the Raptors franchise (4).

Trent has counted 31 (!) Making 3 seconds in his last five games, converting at a blistering clip of 51.7% from outside the arc. His shot chart over that period is a fantastic one.

On the season, Trent is scoring 39.7 percent from 3 out of 8.0 attempts per game.

After the victory over Miami, the sniper Raptors expressed his interest when competing in the All-Star Weekend 3-Point Contest and with this kind of perimeter shot, it would be a mistake to leave him out.

Five consecutive 30-games: Tie DeMar DeRozan to first place in Raptors franchise history

With his fifth straight 30-point game, Trent overtook DeRozan for the longest 30-point streak in the history of the Raptors franchise.
