Receive email. You want it to work in a simple way. You want the people who made it to know how you use it, and you want them to adapt it.
Instead, it takes you to a higher level of understanding. So much so that you are forced to create a TikTok video.
That, at least, is what happened to TikTok user @maselreb.
She offer only twenty seconds ingenious diatribe. It started: “Opinion created by someone who has never once in their life needed to email a single person, do a single thing over email. “
It was an emotional start to a speech. She continued: “They’re using a carrier pigeon because there’s simply no other way.”

Negative outlook
Having never talked on TikTok, I imagine a lot of people just put their feelings out there and assume that maybe no one will see them.
Yet here I am, just a day after @maselreb voiced her opinion and it seems like the world’s sense of peace has been disturbed.
More than 1.1 million views, 220,000 likes and more than 3,000 comments show that many people have strong feelings about Microsoft’s email service.
However, imagine that these feelings are not one-sided.
Oh, of course there are people who get along. Sample: “Nothing is intuitive, I really can’t find the submit button sometimes.” Second sample: “Forced to drop an email you’re drafting to see your calendar and then spend 30 minutes looking for an email draft.”
Then: “I really think at least 30% of my day is spent looking for email attachments in an email thread. And then I give up.”
I confess, being a long time Hotmail/Outlook user, I have certainly encountered such phenomena before I was strangely accustomed to them.
My biggest pain with Outlook is that by setting it as the default email on my iPhone, new emails in a thread get pushed to the bottom. So you have to scroll all the way through the thread to find new emails. This is not human.

My Outlook is better than your Google mess
However, this TikTok series has created a fascinating scene – large numbers of people believe that Outlook is still better than Gmail.
There, you would have thought that Google’s software design must be more elegant than Microsoft’s. It doesn’t seem to be the case for many people, even if the difference isn’t too great.
Even @maselreb mused: “‘I liKe oUtlOok bEtteR tHAn GMaiL’ yeah I’d rather die in my sleep than get stabbed but that doesn’t mean I’m not in hell.”
Be more specific.
One TikToker put it: “LMAO this is my worst and most controversial opinion, but I prefer Outlook over gmail at this point in terms of functionality.”
Another whispered: “Outlook is terrible and could be better than gmail.”
Had more detailed thoughts. For example: “Gmail has better search capabilities. In all other ways, Gmail is trash to use if you get a lot of email.

Enterprise software is emotional
As I scroll through this stream of public emotion regarding this email, it becomes clear that many people actually believe Outlook is better, just as many people truly believe that Gmail is one of the worst creations mankind has ever created. known.
One staunch Microsoft fan commented: “The point is that every other Microsoft business tool is great.” The idea is that Outlook isn’t so great. Of course, I want to hear how great Word is, but I’m afraid I won’t be convinced. There’s a bit of visual treasure to Word.
Please help. I started to discover that enterprise software is indeed an emotional subject.
The most poignant – and certainly important – commentary comes with these simple words: “Google isn’t any better either. I don’t know why none of them work after so many years like this. so.”

When such important software has been around for decades and it still causes this terrible amount, it’s worth questioning why such bad design principles were attached to it in the first place.
Could it be that the people who designed it did so purely for themselves, without enjoying any kind of instinct that captures real human behavior? (That’s the behavior of real humans who aren’t software people.)
In fact, maybe we need to radically rethink our simplest, most important enterprise software, so that we can’t go about the Doolally Department every day?
