Dubbed “the most luxurious super-experience resort in the world,” Dubai’s new take on Atlantis is not the sandcastle-like resort you may have seen in the Bahamas. In fact, it’s not even physically similar to the classic Arabic-style Atlantis, The Palm, the next-door neighbor of the new resort on the far side of Palm Jumeirah.

This hyper-modern Atlantis is futuristic and aloft – quite literally, as it rises 43 stories above the Arabian Sea almost like a spaceship or something out of a futuristic movie.

But in Dubai, the future is almost always the present – at least when it comes to buildings – and Atlantis The Royal is no exception.

On the 22nd floor, Cloud 22 offers guests a unique infinity pool experience, with 15 private cabanas with plunge pools for rent, views of The Palm and the sea, DJ set, poolside bar and atmosphere. the atmosphere will certainly be one of the most fascinating places to see and be seen in Dubai.

Besides Cloud 22, Tao Group will introduce Ling Ling, an Asian-style restaurant where “diners can expect a multi-sensory, culturally rich dining and late-night dining experience”, because, Remember, there’s more to it than that.

Located below ground level, popular Japanese restaurant Nobu prepares to open its first beach club and swimming pool while an impressive team of celebrity chefs, including José Andrés, Ariana Bundy, Costas Spiliadis, Gastón Acurio and Heston Blumenthal, will operate the restaurants and bars that dot the nearly million-square-foot resort. In total, 17 restaurants and bars will operate at Atlantis The Royal.

With 795 rooms, suites and penthouses, there are many types of accommodation to choose from.

Rooms on the last floor face the ocean or The Palm (with views of the Dubai skyline) and are a little over 600 square feet with one king bed or two queen beds. Better yet, rooms with balconies are a little under 100 square feet. Upgrade to a Royal Club suite and enjoy daily breakfast, afternoon tea, evening cocktails and 24-hour butler service at two different Royal Club Lounges.

For suites, guests can choose between Sky Pool Villa, Sky Terrace Suite and Junior Sky View Suite.

At more than 1,200 feet, Sky Pool Villa features a large living room and dining area, pantry and two bathrooms, plus a giant soaking tub. But the star of this show are the decks, which range in size from about 1,000 to 2,000 square feet and are decked out with sun loungers and a private infinity pool, pictured above.

The Sky Terrace Suites overlook the pool but still have plenty of space to recharge outside, while the Junior Sky Suite offers stunning Dubai views with a smaller outdoor space.

And for those on a tight budget or ready to spend on a really special occasion (or maybe just the rich, famous, or both), the resort’s signature penthouse category care will surely make even the richest Housewives admire. From the two-story, four-bedroom Royal Residence with a stunning private entrance surrounded by 100-year-old olive trees to the two-bedroom Panoramic Penthouse, the hotel’s highest point, these lavish offerings really, really has it all – and (you guessed it) more.

Some of my favorite perks for guests staying in a suite or penthouse include “elite” butler service that takes care of unloading your luggage, ironing your clothes, and taking you on a private tour of the property. resort, if you wish.

Guests can even order custom pillows from a list of miniature pillows (pictured below), with choices ranging from memory foam pillows to buckwheat pillows (a huge trend in Japan). to help ensure a good night’s sleep.

In addition to all the “wow” moments mentioned above, there are still many more and than. At Heston Blumenthal’s Resonance, the famous British chef’s first cocktail bar, a 21-foot-tall jellyfish aquarium containing 4,000 types of moon jellies is sure to be the center of attention.

Meanwhile, the nearly 40-foot-tall artist’s interpretation of the first raindrops in the desert, known as “Drips,” (pictured below) would be every influencer’s dream photo.

There is also Skyblaze, a literal fire fountain and “the first and only permanent fire and water fountain in the Middle East” designed by Wet Design. The spa has treatment options to suit everyone’s taste, plus a “reimagined” hammam with four different experiences and treatments using volcanic rock, crushed meteorite, lavender black soap and yellow.

How to set

Atlantis The Royal Dubai is currently taking reservations although the property is expected to stay open until early March. Unlike the Atlantis properties in the Bahamas that are part of the Marriott Bonvoy program, this new resort owned by a separate group and like Atlantis, The Palm, it is expected to be independent of any loyalty scheme.

Considering opening rates, you should expect to pay at least $900 a night for an entry-level room booked with the Advanced Buy Offer and over $1,000 a night with Best Available Rates. Royal Club level rooms start around $1,200 a night while Sky Pool Villas are easily $5,000 a night.
