Leapmotor C10 2025: Details on Jeep’s parent company’s Chinese electric SUV


Leap Forward Engine is jumping into the race to steal market share from Chinese brands in Australia and has released key details about its debut model.

The Leapmotor C10 is a mid-size electric SUV that is expected to arrive in Australia in November. Pricing has yet to be announced.

This is one of many Chinese mid-size electric SUVs coming to our market, with BYD Sealion 7, Geely EX5,
Xpeng G6 And Zeekr 7X among others will assume the dominant role Tesla Model Y.

While Leapmotor has yet to announce retail locations in Australia, it boasts that it will be able to tap into Stellantis’ sales and service network.

Leapmotor International is a joint venture between Stellantis – the owner of Jeep and Peugeot, which holds a 51% stake – and Chinese company Leapmotor, which holds the remaining 49%.

The company says two models will be at the heart of its rapid global expansion: the T03 city car and the C10. Only the latter has been confirmed for Australia.

The C10 has a rear-mounted electric motor with a power of 160kW. The car is rear-wheel drive.

Leapmotor claims it takes about 30 minutes to charge from 30 to 80 percent using DC power.

The C10 is very similar in size to the Tesla Model Y.

Safety

While Leapmotor brags on various websites and social media pages that the C10 has a five-star safety rating from Euro NCAP, the safety body has yet to release the results.

All C10s come standard with 17 advanced driver assistance functions, powered by 12 sensors.

While a full list hasn’t been provided for the Australian market, in China the car comes equipped with equipment such as autonomous emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, lane keeping assist, lane keeping assist and rear cross traffic alert.

The company has confirmed all C10s sold in Australia will come equipped with seven airbags and surround-view cameras.
