Large EVs with the longest range in Australia

If you’re in the market for a large vehicle that isn’t an SUV and you’re ready to make the switch to an electric vehicle (EV), it can be difficult to know which type of vehicle will give you the most bang for your buck.

There are a few options to choose from, and they vary in claimed range between makes and models. When you’re spending this much money on an EV, how can you know which one will give you the most range?

To help narrow down your search, we’ve combined the large and extra-large EVs from the VFACTS sales rankings and compared them based on their claimed best driving range.

We chose to combine these two larger categories because there are only seven cars in total in each category. They are also similarly priced and largely fall into the luxury segment, meaning they are likely to be cross-purchased by people looking for a premium electric car.

For this list, we ranked each car based on EV range figures published on the Australian Government. Green Car Guide (GVG), using figures based on the European NEDC test cycle.

That test is often more lenient than the WLTP cycle, meaning the figures may not reflect real-world results, but for the purposes of this list it helps ensure range figures are as consistent as possible between each car.

WLTP figures are also not available for each vehicle in this list, meaning comparisons based on figures from different test cycles will not be representative.
