Local information such as specifications and pricing will be revealed as the product nears its arrival.

Last month, the model believed to be the Tayron – badged Tayron L – was revealed via a filing with China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), looking similar to the new-generation Tiguan but with a longer body.

As expected of a Tiguan Allspace replacement, there will be three rows of seats depending on the market.

While we haven’t seen the car’s interior yet, we expect the cabin to carry over much of the Tiguan’s.

The Tayron is also expected to have the same powertrain options as the Tiguan, including a 48-volt mild hybrid, a plug-in hybrid, and a traditional gasoline-only engine.

Volkswagen is said to be building the Tayron in Germany, alongside the Tiguan. The current Tiguan Allspace is made in Mexico, while the new Tayron L – like the upcoming Tayron – will be built in China for Chinese consumption.
