The Honda HR-V e:HEV hybrid has become more affordable.
Updated HR-V The new lineup, launched on October 1, has evolved into a new e:HEV X version.
The car’s price is $39,900, $3,000 cheaper than the e:HEV L.
Promotional pricing for the base gasoline-powered Vi X model has also been frozen, with the starting price for Honda’s compact SUV remaining at $34,900.
The upgraded e:HEV L version is even cheaper – $1,000 – than the previously announced price.

The facelifted HR-V features a new, more square-shaped grille, while at the rear, there are redesigned full-width LED headlights.
Hybrid models also come with adaptive LED headlights.
Inside, there’s a redesigned center console, with an expansive top tray that can hold a large smartphone. There are also both USB-A and USB-C ports up front.
Honda says the cabin is quieter thanks to better soundproofing.
Inside, Honda has tweaked the power steering for greater stability at high speeds and a “more predictable” feel, while e:HEV models have retuned the suspension “for even better levels of control and steering compliance.”
The hybrid models also get improved Power Control Unit (PCU) software, which Honda says allows for smoother switching between electric and hybrid modes as well as better EV throttle response.
Honda also says it has improved refinement by adjusting the PCU software to prevent sudden RPM spikes from the gasoline engine in hybrid mode.
The suite of safety technologies has been developed to include Traffic Jam Assist and low-speed braking control.

Maintenance and Warranty
The Honda HR-V comes with a five-year unlimited mileage warranty, five years of roadside assistance and five years of fixed-price servicing.
Honda hasn’t announced any changes to service pricing, which suggests each service will continue to be capped at $199. Service is required every 12 months or 10,000km, whichever comes first.
Safety
The Honda HR-V has been awarded a four-star safety rating by ANCAP based on testing carried out in 2022.
The car was rated 82% for adult occupant protection, 77% for child occupant protection, 72% for vulnerable pedestrian protection and 69% for safety assist.
Honda has not detailed which safety features will be standard on each model.
Safety equipment includes:

- Detecting collision between motorbikes going in the opposite direction
- Frontal traffic collision between pedestrian and bicycle (NEW)
- Lane keeping assist
- Adaptive cruise control
- Traffic jam support (NEW)
The pre-update version is also available with the following features:

Color
The two new colors are Slate Gray Pearl and Botanical Green, with the latter being exclusive to hybrid models.
Transitional finishes include Platinum White Pearl, Premium Crystal Red Metallic, and Premium Opal White Silver Pearl, the latter of which is also exclusive to hybrid models.
