BYD Atto 3 2024 in Malaysia – ER only, 420km range, better tyres, dark interior, reduced by RM18k to RM149,800
Final, 2024 BYD Atto 3 has been launched in Malaysia at the ongoing Sime Darby Motors Automania. There is only one variant this time, and the big news is that the only Extended Scope Model has been reduced in price and is now the same price as last year Standard Range – while still keeping the larger battery and many other attractive features.
This means that ER is currently priced at RM149,800 (pure, RM150,430 on the road without insurance), significantly lower than last year’s retail price by RM18,000 (net price, RM168,430 OTR price).
For that money, you get a 60.48 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) Blade battery that provides a range of 420 km on the WLTP cycle. In terms of performance, the ER’s single front motor produces 204 PS (150 kW) and 310 Nm of torque, helping it accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h half a second quicker at 7.3 seconds.
The car supports 88 kW DC fast charging, which can charge the battery from 10 to 80 percent in 40 minutes. For AC charging, the maximum input remains the same as before at 7 kW, so a full charge takes 9 hours and 42 minutes.
On the outside, the 2024 Atto 3 is distinguished by black window trim and D-pillars that replace the previous silver details, as well as a simple BYD badge at the rear (no more “Build Your Dreams”) and the addition of a new Cosmos Black color option. As before, the ER model gets 18-inch turbine-style alloy wheels, now shod with Continental EcoContact 6Q tires instead of the old Atlas Batman A51s.
Inside, the 2024 Atto 3 gets a larger 15.6-inch rotating touchscreen from Seal – up from 12.8 inches before – as well as a new two-tone black and dark blue colour scheme for cars painted in Boulder Grey or Cosmos Black. Exclusive features to the ER include multi-colour ambient lighting, nine speakers (up from six) and a powered tailgate.
The rest of the standard kit remains the same and includes adaptive LED headlights, roof rails, keyless entry with NFC, push-button start, single-zone automatic climate control, six-way power driver’s seat and four-way power passenger seat, faux leather upholstery, panoramic glass sunroof, heated side mirrors, navigation, wired Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto, Qi wireless charging, and a 360-degree camera system.
On the safety front, the Atto 3 comes with seven airbags (including a front center airbag) and stability control, along with a full suite of driver assistance systems. These include autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control with stop and go, lane keep assist, blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, rear collision warning and open door warning.
