Quite a Catch First Stakes Winner for Requite


What an eye-catcher! was determined to win the $75,000 Louisiana Cup Juvenile Fillies Stakes on August 31 at Louisiana Downs and donated to Red River Farms stallions The reward his first winner.

Quite the Catch, a 2-year-old mare out of Tale of the Cat winner Exceedexpectations, won for the second time in three starts. She earned $69,600 for owner Nicholas James Latour. Quite the Catch was bred in Louisiana by Brandon Adcock.

With Jose Rodriguez on the ropes, Quite the Catch was the last of nine to finish at the start of the 5 1/2 furlong race. She was still 12 lengths behind after three furlongs but she raced past them all on the track to claim a stunning victory. Her final time for the 5 1/2 furlong over the muddy track was 1:06.63.

Quite the Catch paid $40.80 to win. She is trained by Nicholas Latour.

Requite, a 12 year old horse Warrior’s Reward raced from 2014 to 2017, winning five of nine starts and earning $252,510 for Limestone Thoroughbreds owner and trainer George Weaver. He won two races at Gulfstream Park and finished second in the 2015 Amsterdam Stakes (G2) at Saratoga Race Track.

Requite is a son of the Carson City mare New Hope Seven. He entered the stallion’s stud in 2019. Requite’s 2024 stud fee at Red River Farms near Coushatta, La., is $1,500.
