Income A-List or A-List Preferred Elite Status IN Southwest’s Rapid Rewards Loyalty Program just got easier.
The new limited-time acceleration promotion offers members four unique ways to earn elite status through 2025. Activities that previously did not count toward status are now included in qualifying points and flight calculations.
Here’s how you can quickly achieve elite status with Southwest’s new promotion.
How to Achieve Southwest A-List Elite Status with New Promotion
Rapid Rewards members typically need to achieve the following to qualify for elite status by 2025:
- List A: 20 one-way qualifying flights or 35,000 qualifying points
- A-List Priority: 40 one-way qualifying flights or 70,000 tier qualifying points
However, you can now achieve elite status faster through November 30 with Southwest’s latest promotion.

Currently, you can quickly achieve elite status by:
- Register at southwest.comthen book travel through November 30; doing so will earn you at least double your qualifying points, with business travelers booking flights through Southwest Business (swabiz.com, a global distribution system, or Southwest Partner Services) earning triple their qualifying points.
- Purchase flights with Rapid Rewards points for travel through November 30; this will count towards your fare class requirement, but keep in mind that this only includes rewards booked after signing up for this promotion, so if you want these flights to count towards your fare class requirement, you can cancel them, sign up, and rebook.
- Use one Southwest Rapid Rewards® Premier Credit CardOne Southwest Rapid Rewards® Preferred Credit CardOne Southwest® Rapid Rewards® Performance Business Credit Card or one Southwest® Rapid Rewards® Premier Business Credit Card after signing up to earn an additional 2,000 tier-qualifying points for every $5,000 spent on the card between September 1 and November 30; these points are added to the tier-qualifying points already awarded on these cards when the spending requirement is met.
- Book a rental car or hotel through Rapid Rewards or make purchases with select Rapid Rewards partners between now and November 30; each base point you earn counts as 1 qualifying point, up to 5,000 qualifying points. No registration required.

What are the benefits of Southwest A-List status for the elite?
With Southwest A-List status, you’ll receive the following benefits:

- 25% bonus on points earned from paid flights
- Free same day waiting and changes (taxes and fees may apply)
- Priority check-in and security access
- Access to a dedicated A-List members phone line
The Southwest A-List Preferred membership card offers all the benefits of an A-List membership card, as well as:
- 100% bonus on points earned from paid flights
- Free Wi-Fi on board
- Two complimentary premium drinks on flights 176 miles or longer
Although not a status level, Southwest’s popular Companion Pass can also be accumulated after taking 100 qualifying one-way flights or earning 135,000 qualifying points.
You can earn A-List and A-List Preferred status by completing the required number of qualifying flights or earning tier-qualifying points. The latter can be earned on flights, through spending on select categories Southwest Co-Branded Credit Card or through these new earning opportunities.
