Devil Schoola tactical RPG with Figure affecthas just postponed its release date of September 13, 2024 to early 2025. There is no exact release date for the game following this announcement, which is a move to add more content to the game.
Necrosoft Games’ announcement clearly stated the exact reason for the Devil School has been delayed from September 2024 to sometime in 2025. The developer says the game is currently complete. However, the goal behind the delay is to add additional “work to do.” The announcement claims that if it releases as planned on September 13, 2024, players “will never know” that there could be more content.
Here’s Necrosoft Games’ full statement on the game’s delay:
“You never want to delay a game, but Devil School It means a lot to us. We really put our hearts into this project, and as we got closer to release, we realized that meeting the September 13th deadline would definitely mean the game would have less content than we originally envisioned.
After talking with Ysbryd, we realized we had a few paths forward. We could:
- Will release the game in its current state on September 13th. We are proud of the game as it is, but we want this world to come alive even more.
- Releasing the game in early 2025, this will allow us to make bigger dreams come true.
We believe the latter option is better for everyone, for everyone who has followed our work so far. So we are delaying the game to make sure it is as packed with things to do as we hoped. The reality is that players will never know. It will still be a finished product. But we will know that there could be more to the game, and that it is a game we want to share. Ysbryd has given us the flexibility to do this, which is very unusual for a publisher these days, and we are grateful for the opportunity to do it right. As we take the extra time, we plan to create short development diaries leading up to launch to provide more details about the work we will be doing. We hope you look forward to more in-depth information about our process.
We apologize to those who have been eagerly awaiting the game, but we sincerely hope that all the additional content will be worth the wait. 2024 is a very challenging year for the team, so we appreciate your understanding.”
