ITOBA 2024 Fall Hybrid Sales Show Continues to Expand Format


The Indiana Thoroughbred Owners and Breeders Association continues to expand the format at its 2024 Fall Mixed Sale, including a live yearling sale, a pasture sale, and a mixed digital horse sale.

The live yearling horse sale will be held on October 12 at Indianapolis Horseshoe The barn will receive goods at 1 p.m. ET. The sale will feature 87 Indiana-bred and Indiana-born foals. The sale will have online bidding and a live webcast. www.HorseAuctionsUsa.com.

Catalogs will be available in print and can be requested by contacting Austin Nicks at [email protected]. Catalogs will be available on the Equineline Catalog Sales Reader app in addition to the ITOBA website at https://www.itoba.com/fall-sale.

The stable auction, which will sell racehorses currently in breeding at Horseshoe Indianapolis, will also take place on October 12 immediately following the conclusion of the yearling auction.

The hybrid digital auction will be held from November 14 to 19 on HorseAuctionsUSA.com. The auction will feature weanlings, broodmares, racehorses, and horses acquired from the live yearling auction. ITOBA is accepting registrations for the hybrid digital auction through November 1.

Both the paddock auction and the hybrid online auction have a $300 entry fee, no commissions, and no RNA fees.

The yearlings offered for live auction represent the state’s top stallions such as Charming kitten , Forever d’Oro , Harry’s Holiday , Holiday Promise , Pray for relief , Quran , Sahara desert sky , Santiva tree And The Unrestrained Express . Father of freshman Computer , isothermal And Speightsong There are also yearlings cataloged. Some of the yearlings raised in Indiana are from Kentucky sires, including Code of Honor , Coal front , Seduced , Jimmy Creed , Mischievous Maximus , Mine and others.

Last year’s auctions brought in nearly $450,000 in total sales. The top-selling colt, Catch a Nite Train, sold for $32,500 to Roger Spiess from Oaks Ridge Farm’s consignment. The now-gelded colt by Unbridled Express won on June 5 and placed on his racing debut in May. Catch a Nite Train, racing for Spiess and trainer Randy Klopp, earned $26,700.
