Landslide in Taman Bunga Raya causes major congestion on Jalan Genting Klang – avoid if possible

Adding to the worsening traffic situation caused by sporadic rains, officials are reporting a recent landslide at Taman Bunga Raya in Setapak, Kuala Lumpur, which spilled over onto Jalan Genting Klang. According to a Astro Radio Traffic TweetThis has certainly caused severe congestion on the route from Jalan Pahang towards the Middle Ring Road 2 (MRR2).

There are currently no reports of casualties, although traffic images show the landslide did not appear to have affected cars on the road or the house above, although the house above was certainly damaged.

Understandably, drivers are advised to avoid the area if possible, at least for the time being. If this is not possible, remember to drive carefully on the roads as landslides can cause the surrounding area to become unstable, leading to further landslides.
