The new Maserati GT2 Stradale is a 631-horsepower road-legal GT2 race car built for everyday use

The GT2 Stradale is a souped-up, race-ready MC20, but it features aggressively ventilated carbon fiber bodywork and a tall carbon wing that both enhances its looks and allows for increased cooling and downforce. Mechanically, the GT2 Stradale gains 10 horsepower over the standard MC20, now with a total of 640 horsepower from its twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter Nettuno V6, and a significant 132 pounds less weight. Maserati claims the car will sprint from 0-62 mph in 2.8 seconds and reach a top speed of around 201 mph. It retains the same eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission as the MC20, and remains rear-wheel drive only.

To ensure the GT2 Stradale achieves “ideal comfort in all conditions of use,” the interior remains largely identical to the MC20, albeit with bespoke, manually adjustable seats for the GT2 Stradale, with carbon buckets available in two sizes for larger and smaller buyers. The interior also features more matte carbon fiber than the MC20, which is used to help eliminate glare. The car still features a 10.25-inch central touchscreen, but the gearshift lever has been raised to fall more easily into the driver’s hands, and the steering wheel is now square with integrated racing-style shift lights.

With a GT2-style suspension setup and 1,100 pounds of downforce generated by the new aerodynamics, this is sure to be a thrill to drive. There are no details on pricing or availability for this ultimate driver’s Maserati yet, but you probably won’t be able to afford it. It looks like the one percent will have another fun toy to play with, this time with a trident up front.
