Capital One Venture allows you to Redeem your miles at a fixed value to pay for travel expensesThis means you can effectively pay for eligible travel purchases made in the last 90 days by redeeming your miles at a rate of 1 cent per mile.

There’s also no minimum redemption amount (unless you don’t have enough miles to cover the entire purchase, in which case the minimum is 2,500 miles). Say you book a one-way domestic award flight and pay $5.60 in taxes with your card. You could use 560 miles—since each mile is worth 1 cent—to cover this small purchase.

Capital One makes it easy for you redeem your miles this wayand you have two options. You can book directly through Capital One Travel Portal by selecting miles as your payment method, or you can simply purchase travel with your credit card – such as airline tickets or hotel reservations – then log into your account and select the option to redeem miles for a statement credit to cover the charge.

Convert cash back from other Capital One cards into Venture miles

You can Convert Capital One Cash Back Rewards into Air Miles if you also have a Capital One miles card.

For example, you can redeem the cash you earn for Capital One Savor Cash Rewards Credit Card into miles if you have too Capital One Venture Fund or no annual fee Capital One VentureOne Rewards Credit Card (see prices and fees).

That means you can leverage Savor’s bonus categories, including dining and groceries, to accumulate additional rewards that you can convert into Capital One Venture miles and then transfer to the program’s airline and hotel partners.

The Capital One Venture Card charges just a $95 annual fee (see prices and fees), which is a low cost for a card with such potential value. It’s easy to justify the annual fee between the easy-to-use rewards structure, simple redemption process, diverse transfer partners, and other perks.

Be sure to crunch the numbers, though, and make sure the higher-priced Venture X card doesn’t make more sense for your situation.
