EVx 2024: Latest BYD Seal, Dolphin and Atto 3 – come see the trio at the flagship EV showcase at SCCC
The paultan.org The Electric Vehicle Expo (EVx) 2024, which takes place from today to tomorrow (July 20-21) at the Setia City Convention Centre (SCCC), will feature a variety of electric vehicle-related products, including a trio of BYD models.
Taking center stage at the BYD booth was Sealthat introduced here in February This sleek, coupe-style four-door sedan comes in two trim levels, the first being the rear-wheel-drive Premium, which features a single motor that produces 308 hp (313 PS or 230 kW) and 262 lb-ft (360 Nm) of torque. The 82.5 kWh LFP Blade battery gives the car a range of up to 350 miles (570 km) according to the WLTP standard (400 miles (650 km) according to the NEDC).
The other Seal variant is the all-wheel-drive Performance AWD, which has a dual-motor powertrain consisting of a 215 PS/310 Nm front motor and a 308 PS/360 Nm rear motor, delivering a total output of 523 PS (530 PS or 390 kW) and 670 Nm. The same 82.5 kWh battery is used for the Performance AWD, so its maximum range is shorter at 520 km.
The second car on display is Dolphinan ideal urban commuter. There are two versions of the electric hatchback here, the Dynamic Standard Range, which has a 44.92 kWh battery that gives a range of up to 340 km (211 miles) according to the WLTP rating, and the Premium Extended Range, which has a larger 60.48 kWh unit that gives a range of up to 427 km (WLTP).
Both variants are powered by a single electric motor, with different power outputs. The Dynamic Standard Range has 95 PS (94 hp or 70 kW) and 180 Nm of torque, while the Premium Extended Range engine produces 204 PS (201 hp or 150 kW) and 310 Nm of torque. The Dolphin also comes fully loaded with features such as a 12.8-inch rotating touchscreen with Apple CarPlay, a 360-degree camera system and Level 2 semi-autonomous driving capabilities as standard.
The triple screen is completed by Chap 3equipped with a front-mounted electric motor rated at 204 PS (201 hp or 150 kW) and 310 Nm of torque. Power for the device is provided by a lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery. The Blade has a range of up to 345 km according to the WLTP standard.
