Porsche Macan Electric Car enters 2025 with a new base model equipped with rear-wheel drive, a feature that will help boost efficiency for the battery-powered compact crossover.
The base Macan will be launched in the fourth quarter of this year and cost $77,295, including $1,995 destination charge. That’s nearly $3,000 cheaper than the base 2024 Macan 4.
The basic Macan is equipped with the same 800-volt electrical architecture and 100 kwh battery found in all other electric Macans, and is powered by a single motor on the rear axle, making it the first Macan in the brand’s history to have only two wheels driven. The motor, which uses a 480-ampere pulse inverter and silicon carbide transistors to help boost efficiency, delivers a maximum output of 335 horsepower and will propel the Macan to 60 mph in 5.4 seconds on its way to a top speed of 136 mph, according to Porsche.
By ditching the front motor and other associated hardware, the car sheds 243 pounds of weight compared to a similar Macan 4. That should make it the new range king in the electric Macan lineup. The EPA hasn’t released range estimates for any of the electric Macans, but Porsche has indicated that the Macan 4’s estimate will be around 300 miles.
Porsche Macan 4S 2025
The 2025 version also includes Introducing the Macan 4S This model will slot between the Macan 4 and Macan Turbo models, which will be launched in 2024 when the electric Macan arrives. The Macan 4S has a dual-motor all-wheel drive system, producing a maximum output of 509 horsepower. Prices start at $86,895, including destination.
Both Macan models come with adaptive air suspension as standard and can be equipped with rear-axle steering. Porsche’s brake-based Torque Vectoring Plus system is available for the Macan 4S. Pricing for these additional features has not yet been announced.
This new version also brings more color and wheel options, along with an off-road package that increases the approach angle and ground clearance.
Order books for Macan 2025 has opened. Porsche is still selling the previous-generation petrol-powered Macan alongside the new electric Macan. The automaker recently confirmed that Only Macan electric will be available from 2026.
