Virgin Atlantic Flying Club Temporarily Loses Access to Air France and KLM Award Seats


In what is hopefully a temporary glitch, Virgin Atlantic Flying Club The program currently does not provide access to award seats operated by Air France or KLM in any class.

Previously, flights operated by these two SkyTeam partner airlines were Using Virgin points is greatwith transatlantic business class flights starting from just 47,500 miles without the hefty airline surcharges imposed by the Flying Club program on Virgin Atlantic-operated flights and now Delta Air Lines.

When watching Air France or KLM site On the Flying Club website, there is a warning banner stating that these seats are not available online and through the Flying Club call center.

Searching for cash-paying flights operated by Air France or KLM on Virgin’s website returns an error, although codeshare flights operated by these airlines with the flight number “VS” are still bookable.

TPG has reached out to Flying Club in hopes of getting more information about the reason for the outage and a specific date when seats are expected to return.

Virgin Atlantic can only tell us the same via a disclaimer on its website:

Due to a system issue, customers are currently unable to book Air France/KLM seats using their Virgin Points. We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused and our team is working to resolve this issue. We hope to have bookings available again in early August.

We hope this restriction is temporary and that award seats will return in a few weeks, as promised by the Flying Club program. We will update you when the issue is resolved.
