Nominations Open for RTCA White Horse Awards
A hero is someone who is admired for their courage. Often in the face of crisis and adversity, a hero will put themselves in danger to help a person or horse. There are heroes in the horse racing industry and the Race Track Chaplaincy of America (RTCA) would like to recognize some of them.
The Race Track Chaplaincy of America (RTCA) is currently seeking nominees for its 22nd Annual White Horse Awards (WHA). The White Horse Awards are presented to an individual or individuals who have done something heroic for people or horses over the past 12 months. The White Horse Awards have a long history of recognizing some of the unsung heroes of horse racing, whether their actions are notable or the quiet, less visible type.
The 2023 RTCA White Horse Award winner is David Pope, who selflessly donated his kidney to a complete stranger.
This year’s White Horse Award winner will be honored with a special video presentation at the Track Pastor’s Night of Faith, Hope and Love event on Tuesday, October 29 at Del Mar in Del Mar, California, just prior to the start of the Breeders’ Cup World Championship.
