That is a saying that strikes fear into the hearts of all true Northwesterners: gloomy June.
You thought we got away with it? Think.
But first, we’ll have an even warmer day than today on Saturday, with Puget Sound Country hitting 80F and another 10 degrees across the Columbia Basin.
During the June Shadow, the northeastern Pacific was filled with low clouds, pushing into western Washington and Oregon (see below). In fact, the entire West Coast could suffer this pain.
This morning’s cloud cover shows why it’s so warm today:
But Sunday morning was a different (and darker) story.
Like Tuesday (below)…and Wednesday and Thursday…same. That’s June Gloom!
