Dolphins’ Byron Jones Says He ‘Can’t Run Or Jump’ Due To Injury
Miami Dolphins back angle Byron Jones said in a social media post on Saturday that he was “unable to run or jump” because of the injuries he suffered throughout his career.
Jones, who missed the entire season last season because of his Achilles tendon surgery, said playing in the NFL is “an honor and privilege” but it comes at a “regrettable price.”
“Many things have changed in eight years,” Jones wrote on Twitter. “I couldn’t run or jump today because of my injury from playing this game. DO NOT take the pills they give you. DO NOT inject them they give you. If you really have to, consult. External doctor to learn about long-term meaning.
“It’s been an honor and a privilege to play in the NFL, but it has come at an unfortunate price that I didn’t foresee. In my opinion, no professional success or financial gain is worth avoiding the bouts of bouts. chronic pain and disability. 2023.”

Jones will not be retiring, a source told ESPN.
Jones, 30, underwent surgery in March to treat a lingering injury he has faced during the 2021 season. A source told ESPN at the time that Jones expected will be available for training camp in July, but he has never been dropped from the PUP roster.
A previous first round pick of dalas cowboy in 2015, Jones signed a five-year, $82 million contract in 2020. He hits the $18.3 million limit in 2023, but the Dolphins could save $13.6 million. by issuing or trading him after June 1st.
Jones made the Pro Bowl in 2018 and had 57 saves and four interceptions in his eight-year career.
