Iowa sports reporter goes viral after covering the blizzard live:
Mark Woodley, a sports reporter for KWWL, has gone viral for covering the recent winter blizzard. Woodley was tasked with reporting on the storm that made landfall early Thursday morning.
A local news station in Iowa was EXTREMELY nervous about his mission – covering the blizzard – and he let his boss know on live TV – and it was hilarious. . https://t.co/RG9lf2oGe5

Woodley’s viral broadcast
The viral video of Woodley’s broadcast was put together by Woodley himself, from his multiple appearances on camera that morning.
The clip begins with Woodley explaining that he “normally” covers sports. But everything in the area was canceled due to the storm.
I usually do sports, uh, everything here is canceled for the next few days, so what better time to ask the sports guy to come in about five hours earlier than he normally does when he wakes up? and go out in the wind and snow and cold and tell others not to do the same. I didn’t even realize that there was a 3:30 show (show) also in the morning until today.
Later in the broadcast, he said that he used to record indoor shows that usually lasted about 30 minutes. This one, he notes, is much longer. And it took place in cold weather.
Stay tuned over the next few hours to see me, slowly, becoming more and more irritable.
Woodley then joked about wishing he was in a car.
That thing is heating up. Outside, it’s, uh, not hot right now.
Hours later, Woodley humorously added that he can still feel his face – even though he wishes he couldn’t.
Can I go back to my normal job? I’m pretty sure Ryan, you guys added an hour to this show because someone likes to torture me. Because, compared to two and a half hours ago, it was getting colder and colder.

In a recent interview with TODAY, Woodley said he couldn’t believe the clip helped him become internet famous.
Of all the things I thought I would get to know in my lifetime, the sly old weather reporter wasn’t on the list.
Roommates, what do you think of Woodley’s broadcast?
