The video game we are grateful for in 2022

As we join this festive time of year, the Siliconera staff will come together to reminisce about the new 2022 video game releases for which we are so grateful. We’re ready to share some of our favorite games, and we’d love to know what new games you’ve appreciated playing so far.

I’m a Teen Exocolonist is a game that was on my radar before launch, but I would probably never have actually played it without Siliconera. It’s something that has become a personal preference, between world building and its art style. While some of the text is a bit overdone, it’s a fun game with huge replay value. Posting about it online also helped me reconnect with some old acquaintances who are also fans of it. This is a comfortable game and ideal to play when you just want to have a good time. I’m excited to see what future patches bring. — Stephanie

Video Game Siliconera Harvestella We Are Grateful in 2022

Incredibly, of the 2022 video games I’ve played so far, I think I’m most grateful for harvest. Even though everything about it screams, “This is the game Jenni will play and love,” the Nintendo Treehouse’s gameplay seems a bit odd and I’m not convinced by it. That is, until I played it. The localization is absolutely amazing. I love most of the characters. Also, although some elements are not perfect, it tells a great story and is very fun to play. — jenni

DNF Duel 2022 video games

I’m so grateful for DNF: Duel and its wild style of play. I really like the ridiculous moves of the characters. Especially my boy, the Troubleshooter, and the Get On Fire explosions that filled his screen. Every match is like total chaos that can turn the tide with some unexpected giant ranged attacks. My friends and I always howl and jump out of our seats at unexpected turns and heavy setbacks (if I get caught in another Inquisitor’s Burning Wheel, I swear…) . Lots of fun, powerful moves and great character designs make the game so enjoyable. — Joel

Ogre Reborn Tactics

It has been a tumultuous 2022, not only for the world but for me personally, with various waves both personally and professionally rocking my symbolic boat. Such stormy weather, familiar and reliable things are what you tend to look for, and Ogre Reborn Tactics is that for me.
Sure, this is technically a recent release, only two weeks old at this point, but a 2010 remake Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together, but it brought back fond memories of those hours spent in fantasy with my PSP (and later my PS Vita). I even dug out my special set Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together tarot cards to stare at for a while.

It’s a near-perfect entertainment and even an improvement on one of the best tactical RPGs of all time, and despite some of its weaknesses hasn’t aged well into the new age. of “quality of life” design, but it is well worth a look. — Joel

live a living prehistory

While I was like so much a lot of games in 2022, my highest earning game thank To be Live a life. It’s a loving treatment of a game that doesn’t require a game at all, and is an example of how you can revive an old design to appeal to a modern audience. Mostly, it points the way to game localization after release and I’d love to see more projects follow its lead. (Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy Warprobably?) – Graham
