Bryan Staring once again had a ripper start from the second row to once again lead them through turn one. Waters tied right behind him to win Ducati 1-2, Mike Jones third and Cru Halliday fourth as they negotiated the Southern Loop for first place out of 10 entries in this race.

Staring maintained the lead throughout the opening lap to the mainline but a swing from DesmoSport Ducati in turn 12 gave Waters a better run and he took the lead in the second leg.

Troy Herfoss looks a lot better today, not only due to the 30th anniversary event on a Penrite Honda and his helmet and Doohanesque leather, but also wanting much better speed and a return to the game.

The next round against Waters 1m31,881 saw his lead stretch to half a second over Bryan Staring, who is a few more bike lengths than Mike Jones and Cru Halliday respectively, while Troy Herfoss follows the YRT pair from behind. Jed Metcher is no exception to that game…

Waters backed away from that 1m31,881 with 1m31,705 to extend his buffer over Staring out a full second, and claimed a new lap record in the process.

Halliday took third place and woefully missed the third turn in his quest to stay ahead of his teammate. 2.5 seconds covered the top 5 while the 6th Metcher started to lose contact with that lead group.

Josh Waters though is pulling out of the group at the other end… another 1m31, 1m31,939 to extend his buffer over Staring to two seconds. With six laps to run, Waters has already won and is leaving the rest to fight the final steps in the arena.

Bryan Staring was trying to stagger to gain rear traction and was starting to get pressure from the YRT men in his tail. Half a second covered that the trio were starting to flee from Herfoss, who must have run wide at some point and lost a lot of ground and thus lost contact with the group.

Cru Halliday came in second at half-time, but Josh Waters was three seconds farther… However, there was nothing to separate Halliday, Staring and Jones.

Bryan Strings is back in second place after getting the better of Halliday and it looks like the battle for second place will be an easy one.

Despite falling back in the final round, Josh Waters was still leading nearly 5 seconds ahead of his pursuers in the final group.

At the start of that final lap, Halliday was in second place and a few bike miles ahead of Staring. Mike Jones tried to circle outside of Staring Hayshed in third place but had to pull out of it, Jones chased the Ducati round 10, 11 and about 12 straight into the main road, but he couldn’t do it. , Staring holds the third place put on the line.

Josh Waters is the clear winner. He made it to the finish line right in the final round but still won over 4 seconds against Halliday and Staring. Mike Jones was right behind them in fourth, but it took another eight long seconds before Troy Herfoss lowered the checkered flag, just a few bike miles ahead of Jed Metcher in sixth.
