One Piece and Eiichiro Oda’s Guinness World Records Update
The record is held by Eiichiro Oda’s A piece in the Guinness Book of World Records has received an update. The manga series has generated more copies than it did when it first received the world record in December 2014.

The Japanese press release notes that the number in the certificate only counts the number of books published domestically in Japan. The Twitter account adds that the manga has more than 500 million copies in print worldwide. That means about 84 million copies have been circulated outside of Japan.
In June 2022, Eiichiro Oda has one month hiatus from the publication of new chapters. He wants to recharge and prepare for the final season of the series. The hiatus did not reduce the series’ popularity, the series continued to be published in the July 25, 2022 issue of Shonen dance.
