Honda reveals their classic styling for Coffs Harbor ProMX
Penrite ProMX Championship 2022
Round Six – Coffs Harbor, NSW
Celebrating the history of motorcycling at the sixth round of the Australian Motorcycling Championship, Factory Honda will showcase different racing eras from around the world.
Dean Ferris will run graphics inspired by Ezra Lusk, who drove for Honda from 1998 to 2000 and finished second overall in the supercar rankings. “This is amazing,” said Ferris. “Ezra takes racing very seriously and isn’t necessarily the flashiest racer, but his technique and racing skills have made him one of the deadliest racers on the track and capable of winning any race. Which race do you line up for?“
Wilson Todd, champion leader in the MX2 division, will run graphics in memory of Jeremy McGrath. The team felt that it was an appropriate tribute, as Todd had won every round of competition to date. McGrath dominates supercar racing on his Honda. Dubbed ‘King’ by most, he has won more races than anyone in the history of the sport. “Jeremy is king and has changed the way people see the sport. His technique changed the way people race bikes – he made the sport more mainstream. I’m pumped with the way my bike looks‘, Todd commented.
The team’s MX3 rider, Campbell Williams, will ride with graphics inspired by the first year team owner Yarrive Konsky spent with Honda. In their first year with Honda, they finished second in the top road race with Troy Dorron and second in the 125cc outdoor championship. “I know this means a lot to Yarrive and the team. I still can’t believe I’m getting the chance to drive for the factory team. The final round is challenging and I hope that we can turn the tide by the end of this week“Williams said.
Kyle Webster has just returned to riding and is busy rebuilding his fitness for the races, so his bike will be showcased with graphics inspired by the CRF450R 50th Anniversary Special Edition designed to celebrate Honda’s 50th anniversary. “This is my sixth year with Honda and I have a permanent agreement with them for my future,” Webster explained. “BILLIONo representing their fifty years in the race is an honor and I look forward to racing again shortly. We have set our sights on Coolum, the final round of the championship. “
Racing director at Factory Honda Australia, Yarrive Konsky, is proud to join Honda and a piece of their racing history. Konsky also appreciates everyone’s efforts and looks forward to racing again this weekend in round six of the Pro MX Championship at Coffs Harbour.
“Honda’s global success has inspired and ignited competition. Honda is the only manufacturer to have won Formula 1, IndyCar, MotoGP, WSBK, Isle of Man, motocross and supercross races. To be associated with them is something very special and to represent them around the world is an honor. We will pay tribute to Honda teams around the world and Honda for 50 years in motorcycling this weekend.‘ exclaimed Konsky.
