Purebred season 2022 at Remington Park whose betting schedule is once again led by the $400,000 Oklahoma Derby (G3) and the $400,000 Springboard Mile. The season runs from August 19 to December 17.
The Oklahoma Derby will kick off an intense program of eight stake races on September 25. Also included in the top-up pass is the $200,000 Remington Park Oaks (G3) for 3-year-olds at a speed 1/16 mile degree. Derby and the Oaks are the only ranked races on the Remington Park schedule.
The season’s top 2-year-old race, the Springboard Mile, is the main event when the season ends on December 17 consisting of six stake races.
The stake schedule features 34 races totaling more than $3.5 million. The first bet race took place on opening night of the season when the $175,000 Governor’s Cup for kids 3 and up, 1/8 mile, was the main event.
The schedule also includes the annual Oklahoma Classic Night on October 21, which features races in division categories for the top Oklahoma crossbreeds. The money spent on the premier state-breeding race night at Remington Park will total more than $1 million.
During the season, 18 stake races are worth $100,000 or more. There are seven stake races that are contested on the pitch. The Oklahoma-breds will feature in 18 stake races.
