All’s Fair in love and remasters
According to Square Enix, you won’t need to play Final Fantasy VII or Final Fantasy VII Remake to play Crisis Core Reunion. It also functions as a standalone story, with its own adventure unfolding.
That said, things in the extended universe are really all about seeing them all come together. And considering how Zack seems to play an important role in Final Fantasy VII RebirthThis could be a good bit of exercise to do before next winter.
The big question is, has the content of the story changed? Zack Fair’s status in Rework, do it again Continuity is obviously completely different from the original. Rework, do it again also seems to be linked to the original series, very Rebuild Evangelion attitude. Things are about to get weird and wild with a timeline and deeper lore questions. Hopefully we get some answers this winter.
