Ramos proves to be too much for Santamaria

Undefeated rising middleweight Jesus Ramos appeared in the fight at the hands of Davis-Romero on Saturday, when the boxer 18-0 beat Luke Santamaria 13-2-1 in the scheduled 10 round. The first half saw Santamaria try to find a way around or through Ramos’ tall defence. In the second half, Santamaria was able to find his mark again while Ramos tried to assert himself thanks to a significant size advantage.
Ramos was very good in the third round. It was that body work, coupled with Ramos’ deft defense, that told the quarter’s story. Santamaria had an excellent fifth by beating her senior. The sixth goal came very close, although Ramos could have gone ahead thanks to the use of more effective punches. Santamaria played well into the seventh inning, but Ramos’ physique seemed to dominate the half.
Santamaria watched in season eight as if he had run out of ideas on how to improve his elder. He played well, but not well enough against his taller, harder opponent. With that in mind, the ninth goal helped Santamaria successfully block Ramos’ time. The tenth and final inning saw an aggressive Santamaria take control of the action. Unfortunately for Santamaria, that wasn’t enough.
The referees rewarded Ramos with a unanimous decision victory.
