Genshin Impact Switch is said to be still in the works – Destructoid
ALRIGHT
Developer miHoYo has confirmed that The Genshin effect The conversion is live and hasn’t been cancelled, thanks to a new company statement.
News from GoNintendowho contacted the studio and was told the following by Xin Yang (global PR for miHoYo):
“The Switch version is still in development and we will announce more information as we move further.”
Initial, The Genshin effect The Switch was announced back in 2020. Since then, people have been trying to get information from the studio about the port but haven’t been able to pinpoint anything concrete. All the usual speculation comes from the silence, often focusing on visual complications for the hardware.
At this time, The Genshin effect only available for mobile, PC, PS4 and PS5. Bringing it to the Switch opens up to an audience. My guess is that aside from the development challenges, the team also needed to secure all the necessary contractual obligations for cross-development, which has become the norm for the game now. It doesn’t make much sense (from a business perspective) to launch this version as a walled garden when players have spent years acquiring all sorts of characters and add-ons.
In any case, we’ll have to keep waiting until we hear more.
