Stock futures rise as investors release more earnings reports

Stock futures rose in overnight trading as investors pored over more quarterly reports from Tesla and United Airlines.
Dow Jones Industrial Average futures add about 80 points, or 0.2%. S&P 500 futures rose 0.4 percent and Nasdaq 100 futures gained 0.6 percent.
First-quarter reports boosted after-hours on Wednesday. Tesla jumped 6% after posting Earning better than expectedwhile United added more than 7% after it Profit forecast in 2022.
Stocks are having a mixed normal session on Wednesday. The Dow rose 280 points, or 0.8%, boosted by strong earnings from Procter & Gamble, while the tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite was dragged down 1% by Netflix. after the report of the plunge. The S&P 500 Index is flat.
Netflix stock on Wednesday posted its biggest single-day drop since 2004 after the streamer reported its first subscriber loss in more than a decade. Other streaming companies like Disney and Roku also fell, and other tech stocks were also lower.
“This continues to be a fairly fragmented market,” said Dave Grecsek, managing director of investment strategy and research at wealth management firm Aspirant. “Some of the more defensive, value-style companies are doing well. The flip side is that some of the more growth-style tech names are going to have a hard time.”
Investors are awaiting quarterly reports from companies like AT&T, American Airlines and Snap on Thursday.
Weekly jobless claims are also expected Thursday morning.
