The original Angry Birds is back on mobile
Classic title makes a comeback
Be there to witness the rise and fall of the original Angry bird The game is a sight to see. It’s a series based on mobile games by the stormand even expanded into pro-conservative trends in the 2010s. It feels like you can’t go anywhere without seeing Angry bird merchandise, that’s why it’s funny to look back on it. After a seemingly endless amount sequel and side storyThe franchise was removed from mobile storefronts in 2019 and it’s the curtains for Angry bird… Or we thought.
Last summer, Rovio, the series’ developer, came up with a alphabet on their website announcing that they are bringing the beloved series back. Apparently, the problem wasn’t just that the games had dropped in popularity, but that they were actually made in the proprietary game engines of the time. However, now that tools like Unity have had a number of major updates over the years, Rovio decided to go back and give the game some much needed updates so they can run on modern platforms.
As they say in the letter, “10 years in the game is like 100 human years – that’s the pace of the industry”.

Well, they finally finished it, and Angry bird Now available to play again on iOS and Android devices. That’s right, every part of the original game, including all the stages, easter eggs, and extras, are all available to play right now as Rovio Classics: Angry Birds. The game will run you $1 to buy, but after that it’s completely free with extras and microtransactions. Even better, the Mighty Eagle upgrade is now included as well, which was previously a separate DLC purchase and opens up a whole new difficulty challenge for players.
Personally, I’m super excited to return to this game, out of nostalgia and just because it’s so much fun to play. Angry bird simple, satisfying and perfect use of touch screen controls – in my opinion it’s as good as mobile games can get.
